Hey guys, finally got round to uploading these scenes and getting you some download links. Some of you may have scene that i gave away some melting scripts that i wrote not too long ago, if not check out the post ‘Free Realflow Melt Scripts.’
There were a few of you having trouble with the general melt scene in getting it working, so i’ve put together a demo scene file for each script that should work straight off. You can have a look under the hood and check out what’s going on, so hopefully you can get some of your own melting projects going!
I’ll record a proper tutorial of how to push these further and work with elastic materials soon, but in the meantime enjoy
‘Free Realflow Melt Scripts!’ – Here
Quick one here, just posting my new showreel. Been a lot of hard work in there and would be amazing if you could all have a watch and pass it on where you can
Been quite busy while pulling this together but now it’s done i’ve got some tutorials up my sleeve for you! First off this week i’m pulling together some scene files to go with the melting scripts i gave away a while back. Hopefully should answer questions some of you had about working with the scripts. FYI the general melt script was used in my ‘Melt it’ piece posted below and i’ll give you a few pointers on getting the melt to work with elastics in real flow too.
I ran a test using the melt script i posted up at ispeakinpictures.com a while back with Realflow’s elastics as a base. Instead of just posting an RF simulation video i thought i’d throw a little edit together.
Simulation – Realflow
Render – Cinema 4d + Vray
Post – After Effects
Edit – Premiere pro
Hoping to get my act together and get some new RF / Vray tutorials done over the next few weeks. Still learning Vray for a bit though before posting anything particularly useful for you!
Machmoving test 01 from Kieran Mithani on Vimeo.
Lately i’ve been getting stuck into matchmoving pretty heavily. Trying out a lot of tools and techniques, i reckon i’ve found a pretty sound workflow for this stuff. Mixing 3d work into footage is right there in terms of the direction i’m looking to go with my motion graphics.
Much more work needs to go into the compositing to lose the 3D edge is probably needed like the shadow in the wrong direction really irritates me, but i’m pretty happy with the solid tracks i’m getting……(continued)
Hey guys happy new year, hope everyone had a good one. First off, i’ve got some exciting new stuff to post up this and next week so watch out for those.
In the meantime Ole from iosim.dk got in touch and was pretty excited about his new melt plugin. I know a lot of you have commented on some tests that i did with similar melting, so it seems like a popular effect. The plugin looks great and Ole’s put a lot of work into making it a comprehensive tool. For my tests, i used some very basic scripting to achieve the effect that I will share at some point this week or next for you.
Ole’s plugin, as i said is a powerful and comprehensive plugin covering different types of melt and i would highly suggest checking out if you can. Unfortunately it seems to only be available for windows 64-bit at the moment but hopefully us OSX users will get a version available soon too!
