Hey guys, finally got round to uploading these scenes and getting you some download links. Some of you may have scene that i gave away some melting scripts that i wrote not too long ago, if not check out the post 'Free Realflow Melt Scripts.'

There were a few of you having trouble with the general melt scene in getting it working, so i've put together a demo scene file for each script that should work straight off. You can have a look under the hood and check out what's going on, so hopefully you can get some of your own melting projects going!

I'll record a proper tutorial of how to push these further and work with elastic materials soon, but in the meantime enjoy :)

Quick one here, just posting my new showreel. Been a lot of hard work in there and would be amazing if you could all have a watch and pass it on where you can :)

Been quite busy while pulling this together but now it's done i've got some tutorials up my sleeve for you! First off this week i'm pulling together some scene files to go with the melting scripts i gave away a while back. Hopefully should answer questions some of you had about working with the scripts. FYI the general melt script was used in my 'Melt it' piece posted below and i'll give you a few pointers on getting the melt to work with elastics in real flow too.

I ran a test using the melt script i posted up at ispeakinpictures.com a while back with Realflow's elastics as a base. Instead of just posting an RF simulation video i thought i'd throw a little edit together.

Simulation - Realflow
Render - Cinema 4d + Vray
Post - After Effects
Edit - Premiere pro

Hoping to get my act together and get some new RF / Vray tutorials done over the next few weeks. Still learning Vray for a bit though before posting anything particularly useful for you!

I've been exploring using Vray within cinema 4d lately and rendered out a couple of test shots for a project i was working on and thought i'd share them.

The iphone model is from here http://dogday-design.se/?p=716

I had a little tweak though and had to completely re-do the textures to create Vray materials.

(oh and new tutorials are definitely in the works right after i've finished putting together this new showreel, which should be done soon-ish :) I'll put out a few little tips i've come across recently in the meantime within the next week)

Much more work needs to go into the compositing to lose the 3D edge is probably needed like the shadow in the wrong direction really irritates me, but i'm pretty happy with the solid tracks i'm getting......(continued)

Lately i’ve been getting stuck into matchmoving pretty heavily. Trying out a lot of tools and techniques, i reckon i’ve found a pretty sound workflow for this stuff.
In terms of tracking, i’ve tried a lot of the tools out there recently. I reckon that the Foundry’s cameratracker plugin does a great job for the price, but can be frustrating to clean the track up on difficult footage.

The standalone software like PFTrack and Boujou, are really solid, there’s no way of getting around that. My advice would be try and get some demo’s and just see what works for you (just keep your fingers crossed it’s not Boujou for the $10k price tag!)

I’m diving even deeper into this stuff and starting to put it to good use in a proper project i.e not just a bunch of tests. That means object tracking with a moving camera, face tracking, pretty much anything i can point my 7D at i’m tracking the shit out of right now!

The speaker in this test is just an object from one of Nick Campbell’s GSG products.

Got a smartphone? Check out the new ISIP mobile site, i've been working on. Simple little thing, (but they work best) and check out the video above where i go through how you can turn the site into it's own little 'app' on the iphone.

Enjoy.

Got a smartphone? Check out the new ISIP mobile site, i’ve been working on. Simple little thing, (but they work best) and check out the video above where i go through how you can turn the site into it’s own little ‘app’ on the iphone.

Hey there guys! I'm back on ISIP bearing gifts. Lots of you asked about some Realflow melting tests I did a while back, so i've decided to share with you the scripts I wrote for those tests. Both the videos below use these scripts (the second with a bit of camera tracking too!) so have a play and i'll get back next week with some scene files showing you how to set them up if you run into any problems. Watch the tutorial above to get some quick tips and have fun with them. These, I should say are very basic scripts at best but hopefully should do the trick in getting you into scripting a little more.

Hey guys happy new year, hope everyone had a good one. First off, i've got some exciting new stuff to post up this and next week so watch out for those.

In the meantime Ole from iosim.dk got in touch and was pretty excited about his new melt plugin. I know a lot of you have commented on some tests that i did with similar melting, so it seems like a popular effect. The plugin looks great and Ole's put a lot of work into making it a comprehensive tool. For my tests, i used some very basic scripting to achieve the effect that I will share at some point this week or next for you.

Ole's plugin, as i said is a powerful and comprehensive plugin covering different types of melt and i would highly suggest checking out if you can. Unfortunately it seems to only be available for windows 64-bit at the moment but hopefully us OSX users will get a version available soon too!

Bit of a delay on posting this one up, but my buddy Bob Harlow has recently finished a new music video, Yeah Buddy and second on the trot for Pulled Apart By Horses. There were a few pretty surreal moments shooting it and they all really pay off. In a poetic sense i'd describe the video as a <del datetime="2010-11-16T13:52:30+00:00">tapestry of anarchic energy</del> fucked up and raucous 2 minutes and 27 seconds.
